Born in the French Alps in 1947, Salomon makes trail running shoes and outdoor gear built for rough terrain, and good-looking enough to wear everywhere else.

Salomon started in 1947 as a small workshop in Annecy, in the French Alps, where founder Georges Salomon made ski gear. Nearly 80 years later, it's one of the biggest names in mountain sports. Its trail running shoes, including the XA PRO and the XT-6, set the standard for grip and stability on rough ground.  The XT-6 also crossed over into streetwear, so you'll see it at the trailhead and around town. Today Salomon makes gear for trail running, hiking, skiing, and everyday adventure, including shoes, apparel, and hydration packs. Its mission is to "unleash the best in people through mountain sports."
