How to Use Stridekick Pro to Create Personalized Challenge Goals
At Stridekick, we believe fitness should be fun, inclusive, and just the right amount of challenging. That’s why we created personalized goals in our Streak, Target, and Stick To It challenge modes, exclusively available on Stridekick Pro for Organizations.
This popular feature lets every participant select a goal that aligns with their fitness level while keeping the team experience cohesive and competitive. Personalized goals help ensure your challenge isn’t too easy or too overwhelming, but just the right level for all of your participants.
Let’s take a look at how it works…
What Are Personalized Goals?
When creating a challenge in Streak, Target, or Stick To It mode, organizers on Stridekick Pro can enable a goal range instead of a single static number. This means that instead of every participant striving to meet the same daily step, distance or active minute goal, each person can choose a goal that suits their personal fitness level.
For example:
- In a Streak challenge, you might set a goal range of 5,000–10,000 steps per day.
- In a Target challenge, the range might be 50,000–100,000 weekly steps.
- In Stick To It, the goal range could be 5,000–10,000 steps per day, for 20 out of 30 days.
Once a participant picks a goal within your range, it’s locked in for the entire challenge. There’s no changing it midway (even if you really want to). This keeps the challenge fair and consistent, while still giving individuals autonomy over their personal fitness targets.
Why Use Personalized Goals?
Since not everyone is at the same fitness level, creating a range could make your event much more impactful for everyone. While some of your participants may be marathon runners, others might just be starting to build healthy habits. Requiring everyone to hit the same number can lead to burnout, frustration, or even making little comments behind your back! (I can’t confirm or deny if that’s true…)
Here’s what personalized goals solve:
Achievability
- Participants pick a number they feel confident in. This encourages consistency and builds momentum, which is key for building habits long-term.
Inclusivity
- Whether someone is recovering from an injury, managing a busy schedule, or simply new to step challenges, personalized goals give them a chance to participate without feeling left behind.
Motivation
- When your goal feels doable, you're more likely to stick to it and actually finish the challenge. Trust us, you don’t want to get to the end of your challenge only to see that barely anybody kept with it. This helps!
What Happens Without Personalized Goals?
Not using personalized goals may work well for smaller groups, but there are some key drawbacks:
- One-size-fits-all goals can exclude people. A daily 10,000-step target might be motivating for some, but unattainable for others.
- Participants may give up early. If someone realizes they can’t keep up, they might disengage entirely.
- Less overall engagement. Challenges work best when everyone can participate fully. Without personalization, you risk losing people’s interest after a while.
Final Thoughts ✨

Your participants will thank you, and your challenge will be more dynamic, inclusive, and fun for everyone. (Even if they don’t actually admit it.)
